Boating Experience

2 Trans-Atlantics
 
11 years old - South Africa to South America and Carribbean - 43ft catamaran - 2 years cruising

16 years old - South Africa to Cabo Verde, Mediterranean through to Turkey - 56ft catamaran - 2 years cruising
 
20 -22 years old - Yacht broker in Cape Town and Durban for a two years

22 years old - Greece to Gibralter - 4 months working on a charter catamaran in Turkey
                                   - hitched on an Australian Oyster monohull for 2 months Greece to Mallorca, Spain
                                   - 2 months crewed an American 62ft Deerfoot monohull - Mallorca to Gibralter
 
22-26 years - Started my own yacht repair and spraypainting business in Durban called SHIPSHAPE
            - Very hands on.  Speciality fairing and spraypainting - Crew of 8
            - Operated for 4 years, then moved to Cape Town
 
Early 30's - Sailed Maputo, Bazaruto, Basses De India and to Madagascar on 44ft catamaran - 1 month
           - Bought an outrigger dugout in Belo su Mer, Madagascar and sailed up the west coast
           - Two months of sailing and living with local Vezu sailors, camped on beaches etc, pretty rough
           - Shipped the 8.5 m dugout back to SA from Majunga
 
32-43 years old - working as a Boat Coordinator in the Cape Town Film Industry
                - supplying and coordinating boat shoots for Commercials and Still
                - business is for sale
 
 
Current main sport is paragliding - 7 years now, but used to surfski, scuba dive, crayfish dive. Learning to kitesurf and loving it

I am 6ft and strong, capable, responsible, a hard worker and looking forward to the adventure.

From South America I fly to Australia where I am competing in a paragliding competition on 14 Feb, so not availabe for return trip
